As an educational leader , it is my job to understand and advocate for students, schools, families, and caregivers. I know that the policies, laws, and regulations at the state and federal level are in place to protect our students and be sure they are getting the best education possible. The Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act (IDEA) is one educational law that requires students with disabilities the right to free and appropriate public education. This field experience provided information on the importance of IDEA as it relates to an Individualized Educational Program and Section 504 Education Plans.
