Victoria Nino
Mother / Teacher / Child Advocate
Who am I?
My name is Victoria Niño; this is my 10th year in education. I have my Music Education degree from Texas Woman’s University. While in college, I was at TWU for Music Therapy; however, I fell in love with teaching and decided on this path instead. Originally, I was from a small town south of Corpus Christi called Kingsville, but I moved up here to pursue Music Therapy and became enchanted with the small town feel of big town Fort Worth. I am blessed to be the mother of an 8-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, crocheting, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
My decision to become an administrator comes from a strong desire to improve student learning, support teachers, and positively impact an entire school community. I am excited to begin this online graduate journey. Being so used to my in-person undergraduate experience, this first week of online graduate school has been fantastic. GCU has made everything user-friendly and removed all the difficulties so I can focus on the work. The on-campus college life experience is the main difference that I currently see. I remember enjoying walking to class and visiting all the beautiful landscaping and squirrels on campus. The only two squirrels I have during my graduate experience are my kids. I haven’t decided what careers I plan to pursue after I graduate, possibly assistant principal or stay in my music classroom and continue my education on to my doctorate. |
